About Us
Pat and Andee Cooper
We have been married 24 years and now after over 30 years, have become
strong believers. We each had come out of painful divorces, bringing a heavy set of baggage with us into our marriage. We thought we were "really good" and our life together was also going to be "really good." Why? We really knew that God had brought us together because our union was confirmed
by various church leaders and we submitted ourselves to their counsel during our engagement. Then the dream turned into a nightmare...and we found ourselves lost in a
desert, with the threat of another divorce waiting to happen. God then took us into our own wildernesses and began a long and steady process of sanctification. We found that their hearts
were deceitful and stubbornly hardened in rebellion. We found that God is indeed
real and that our Heavenly Father loves us deeply and His Word is alive, is true and is effective. His Spirit is more than able when we allowed Him to be who He is and do what He needed to do in our lives. The result of His work and our learned humility and willingness has enabled us to now live our best years and
help others to find their way to do the same. Together, we have 3 deeply loved
children and 6 crazy loved grandchildren. We have one graduated Compassion child and two young Compassion
children we currently support. Additionally,
God has added to our numbers with a heart-adopted family with 5 grand grandchildren.
We are both retired from the Department of Defense
after each working 31 years. Our combined assignments took us to Iceland, Dallas and Germany (twice) with short assignments
into many more countries, including the Middle East. Andee holds a Bachelor of Ministry degree
from Christ For The Nations (CFNI) and an Associate's degree with further course work in business management. Pat holds a BBA, MS, and MA degrees and currently serves as a 12-year Adjunct Professor at Regis University, facilitating in the MSOL and MBA disciplines.
Andee was
saved in a Baptist Church. Pat was saved
in an Assemblies of God church. Andee is
a 10-year licensed Minister with Christ for the Nations-Fellowship of Ministers
and Churches (CFN-FMC). She has held and participated in women’s bible studies
and in various women-focused mentoring sessions. For the past 6 years, Pat has hosted a
biweekly men’s bible study with a group of 10-15 men, and also participates in a
variety of men-focused mentoring/coaching sessions.
We are lead Community Chaplains with Chaplaincy Ministries. We have previously
served as the Family Life Prayer Team Coordinators in support of the
local DFW Family Life 'Weekend to Remember' events. We are certified Marriage Meditators with XO Marriage Ministries and regularly hold 3-day
couple’s intensives in our home. We are also Prepare and Enrich and SYMBIS certified. In
addition, we facilitate the Marriage on the Rock curriculum by Jimmy Evans,
the Re|Engage 16-week in-depth course material, the The Complete Guide to Marriage Mentoring by Drs' Les
and Leslie Parrott, and regularly host a 2-day Art of Marriage video/workbook retreat in our home. At our local church we participate in the Marriage Care ministry, and facilitate a bi-weekly study in our home, focused on marriage related topics.
